BBQ fans in northeastern Ohio know the name Walter Hyde. Hyde and his partner Scott Slugul hosted an incredibly delicious fat casual barbecue in Macedonia. The restaurant attracted smoked meat enthusiasts from across the region who came in search of brisket, pulled pork and St. Louis style rib platters. Nowadays, you can find Hyde at Ice Ice Daisy’s in Slavic Village. There he cooks ice cream and food specials for most of the year.
Tomorrow, Friday, October 15th and next Friday, October 22nd, Hyde will be in the kitchen with chef Penny Valend Taliarina. Ground brewing (7524 Dr. Father Frascati, 216-465-9999) Two special dinner collaborations. Of course, there is plenty of smoked meat, but the grand prize is smoked prime rib, which is fat casual and special on Friday night.
