UPDATE – Police have released the name of the person killed in the Ohio homicide.
Bruce W. Flieger of Jewett, Ohio, was stabbed inside his home and died at a local hospital, authorities said.
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (WTRF) – Steubenville Police are investigating a homicide.
On Wednesday night, just before 11:45 p.m., police were called to a residence in the 800 block of Oakmont Avenue for a report of a subject being stabbed.
When officers arrived on scene, they observed a 58-year-old man being stabbed inside the home.
Steubenville Fire and EMS transported the victim to Trinity West, where he died from his injuries.
Police said there were multiple witnesses at the scene, but the suspect fled before they arrived.
They gathered information about the suspect, who was then located near Lawson and Cardinal streets and was taken into custody.
He is being held without bail in the Jefferson County Jail.
Investigation is ongoing.
