Prompt action and hospital cooperation save the lives of women in Nelsonville

Associate from Emergency Department, Ohio Health of Lenez Hospital Recently, the Fairfield Medical Center commended the extraordinary care provided to women in Nelsonville. Upon arriving at Oblenes ED in June, Tina Reyburn suffered a heart attack and collapsed, resulting in cardiac arrest. O’Bleness’s ED provider and associates provided rapid diagnosis beyond life-saving care and ultimately saved her life.

Upon stabilization, Rayburn was transferred to the FMC, where her care team focused on the quality care she received at Oblenes.

“Our team didn’t give up on Tina, and Tina didn’t give up on herself,” said Lee Ann Lucas-Helber, president of Ohio Health O’Bleness Hospital. “And when she found out that she was stable enough to move for additional care, the Fairfield Medical Center was ready.”

The FMC arranged the awards ceremony at Oblenes, and Rayburn was at hand to receive tearful hugs and wishes from the Ohio Health and FMC care teams.

FMC has awarded O’Bleness two awards.

  • “STEMI Emmy” for excellence in the treatment of Rayburn’s STEMI (ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction-a medical acronym for the most severe type of heart attack).
  • The “Revival Champion Award” for more than their job to provide life-saving medical care.

“I’m happy to welcome you all,” Rayburn said. “Without you, I wouldn’t be here.”
