Streetsboro firefighter collapses and is hospitalized

streetsboro, ohio (WJW) – A Streetsboro firefighter is in intensive care after collapsing during an EMS training Monday morning.

Fellow first responders tended to him at the scene before the firefighter was taken to University Hospitals Portage Medical Center. There he regained his pulse and breathing.

“Our brother is under the care of the UHPMC medical team,” the Streetsboro Fire Department said. Facebook post. “Keep thinking and praying for him, his family, and his fire department family.”

For now, the Kent and Ravenna fire departments are helping Streetboro answer the phone while staff handle the situation.
