Rose Mary Flanagan Ovarian Cancer Foundation’s ‘Teal Together’ Event Raises Awareness for Ovarian Cancer

Boardman, Ohio (WKBN) – September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. A local organization has held awareness events in the area for about ten years.

On Wednesday, members of the Rose Mary Flanagan Ovarian Cancer Foundation geared up for their next event.

This Saturday is our 3rd Annual “Teal Together” 5K and 1 Mile Walk at Boardman Township Park.Reception starts at 7:30 a.m.

The festival is held at the Thomas Masters Pavilion closest to the park’s South Boulevard entrance.

This walk honors those who have died due to ovarian cancer and celebrates those who have survived the disease.

“Having our survivor’s approval is really special to let people know that you can survive this disease and to recognize survivors who have been through this journey. Rose Mary Flanagan Ovary Erin Lonsway, Executive Director of the Foundation, said:

The money raised in the run will be used for scholarships for Ursuline High School students.
