Serena Woman Joins Ohio’s “Belt Saved” Club

WAPAKONETA — Serena’s Debra Wenning was awarded the Saved by the Belt Award by Ohio soldiers from the Wapakoneta post.

This recognition was made in May after being hit head-on by a disabled driver while driving US Route 33 east of St. Mary’s. She wore a seatbelt while driving and was saved without any life-threatening injuries.

Saved by the Belt Club is a partnership between the Ohio Department of Public Security and more than 400 law enforcement agencies in the state to recognize individuals who have benefited from wearing a safety belt while driving.
