The Amy Winehouse family feels betrayed by a book that tells all of her best companions.
Tyler James recently released his book, My Amy: A Life We Shared, detailing her friendship with Amy and her path to her tragic death, with Amy’s parents Janice. Mitch is reportedly angry at what they consider to be his contradiction.
One source told The Sun’s strange column:
“They are particularly angry that Tyler claims to be the only friend who wasn’t paid to be around Amy towards the end of her life, but her fiancé leg. Many of her closest companions, including Travis, are completely missing from his story.
“After all the financial support Amy and her family gave to Tyler, hearing these claims from him left a bad taste in his mouth.
“The important people in her life have just been left behind. Tyler portrays herself as the only person trying to help Amy while others are exploiting Amy.”
And Amy’s parents confirmed that Tyler was angry at working on a book about her daughter, who died on July 23, 2011, at the age of 27, despite concerns.
Amy’s parents spokesperson said, “Amy’s parents are disappointed that Tyler proceeded with the book without consulting them and disagree with many of his claims.”
