Ohio man arrested for online threatening California school shooting

FBI agents have arrested a Centerville, Ohio man on federal charges for online threatening a California school shooting.

Alex Jaques, 21, has been indicted by the federal government for making cross-state threats.

According to an affidavit filed in support of the criminal complaint, on November 15, the FBI National Threat Operations Center received information about a video Jack allegedly posted on YouTube.

In the video, Jack allegedly uses multiple firearms to shoot a Chromebook computer and threatens to attack Washington Middle School in Salinas, California. The Chromebook has a Washington Middle School sticker on it. The video shows an maggot-type weapon being fired in rapid succession and multiple shots being fired from a rifle-type weapon.

Law enforcement contacted school officials in Salinas, California, and discovered that Jack was a student at a school in the same county.

Other videos on Jaques’ YouTube page allegedly depict the defendant driving while shooting a pistol at a road sign.

While executing a search warrant at Jack’s residence today, FBI agents seized eight firearms, including a Uzi-style weapon.
