Kyle Lutz charged with robbery, charged with assaulting dollar store employee in Liberty

LIBERTY, Ohio (WKBN) – A Farrell man is in jail after police said he stole from a Dollar General store and assaulted an employee.

Kyle Lutz, 43, has been charged with burglary, failure to comply, four counts of theft, and two counts of driving while stopped.

Around 5:30 p.m. Monday, he went to the Dollar General on Logan Way and began collecting items, police said. According to police reports, when he was finished, the clerk asked if he would pay for them.

The clerk followed him into the parking lot and tried to retrieve the goods, but was reportedly taken off after Lutz pushed him and hit him in the collarbone area.

Lutz was found and arrested Monday night and booked to Trumbull County Jail where he is being held on $200,000 bail.
