TOLEDO, Ohio — A family reunion will take place inside the Huntington Center this season.
The Toledo Walleye announced today that they have agreed an agreement with forwards Lucas and Sam Craggs for the 2022-23 season.
Head coach Dan Watson said: “We are thrilled to have both Lucas and Sam on our program. Sam will be a big part of our forward group for his size and strength. increase.”
The Craggs brothers reunited for the first time since playing back-to-back 2017-2019 with the BGSU Falcons, who totaled 40 points (21 goals, 19 assists) in 73 games in 2018-19. motion.
Lucas joined Toledo last year after splitting between the Cincinnati Cyclones and the Rochester Americans. The 26-year-old scored his 31 points (12G, 19A) in his 35 games with the Cyclones, adding three more (2G, 1A) as an American. He has appeared in Walleye in his 109 career professional contests and in his 54 games in the AHL.
“Lucas is a 200-footer,” said Watson. “He was a contender and was Cincinnati’s best forward in the playoffs. We expect him to be a top offensive contributor while still being the head of defense.”
Sam was one of five Falcons to appear in all 37 games during the 2021-22 season. Craggs left his BGSU as the all-time leader in career games played with his 181 and finished ninth all-time in penalty minutes with 295. He is an athlete as well as his three-time member of the WCHA All-Academic list.
The Walleye will open the 2022-23 regular season on October 22 against the Wheeling Nailers.
