Wheeling Health Right’s chef auction returns after a three-year hiatus

Wheeling, West Virginia (WTRF) – After three long years, Wheeling Health Light’s Chef’s Auction is finally back.

Approximately 27,000 patients are served under this organization, and the return of Chef’s Auction has enabled us to continue to provide care to those who need it but cannot afford it.

It all kicked off at 6 p.m. Thursday night at the Wes Banko Arena, where guests could indulge in all kinds of food.

It’s their only fundraising event of the year, meaning the money raised will go to treatments for everything from diabetes to dentistry to heart disease. And every penny you raise stays here at Wheeling.

“The food was great and the theme was a real hit, so we were super excited and we really needed this. We also have a dental program. We are the only clinic in West Virginia that does dental care in a primary care setting. We just do a little bit of everything, it’s like a one stop shop.”

Kathie Brown, Executive Director, Wheeling Health Right

It has raised nearly $90,000 in the past. What are their goals for this year? $100,000 expensive.

In addition, the sold-out audience enjoyed live auctions and live music.
