Ohio Historic Bridge Renovation Plan

Lowellville, Ohio (WKBN) – The historic truss bridge over the Mahoning River in Lowellville has been completely renovated and will be a different color when completed.

The bridge is covered with a tarp as the crew blows off the old paint. The new paint will be Lowell Bill Blue to match the high school colors.

The Mahoning County Engineer’s Office has been unable to obtain the greenery that has been used for the bridge since it was built in 1969. Therefore, after consulting with the community, the decision was made to use blue.

The $1.2 million project also includes new decks.

It is expected to be completed in time for the Lowellville Festival in mid-July.
