WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) – Today officially kicks off Lung Cancer Awareness Week, and instead of lighting up a cigarette, they'll be lighting up WesBanco Arena in turquoise.
It is estimated that more than 2,000 people in West Virginia will be diagnosed with lung cancer this year alone.
Turquoise is now the signature color of the American Lung Association's Lung Corps, which aims to raise awareness about the disease and honor survivors.
You can take action against lung cancer by getting screened if you're eligible, attending a Lung Force walk, and learning more by visiting: American Lung Association website.
