Expect many detours when entering College Hill from Hamilton Avenue. Officials said it was a lone accident in which a police Jeep Compass crashed into a utility pole. Initial reports classified the accident as entrapped, but when officers arrived they saw the driver crawling out of the vehicle, officials said. Officials say distracted driving and speed may have contributed to the accident.Utility lines are expected to go down through the morning rush hour, heading west on Galbraith Avenue, North Bend, etc. , advises drivers to bypass Hamilton Avenue.East.

An accident on College Hill closed the main thoroughfare Monday morning.

The crash occurred on Hamilton Avenue on West North Bend Road, closing the intersection around 3:30 am.

Entering College Hill from Hamilton Avenue requires a number of detours.

Police said it was a one-vehicle accident in which a Jeep Compass crashed into a utility pole.

Authorities said the driver of the vehicle lost control of the vehicle before it hit a utility pole. Initial calls from dispatch classified the crash as an entrapment, officials said, but when officers arrived they saw the driver crawling out of the vehicle.

The driver was taken to the University of California Medical Center with minor injuries, police said. Officials say distracted driving and speed may have contributed to the crash.
