One dead in Sunday shooting in Grant County – WOWO 1190 AM

Grant County, Indiana (WOWO) – One person was killed in a shooting in Grant County early Sunday morning.

Agents from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Fairmount Police Department were dispatched to the 7200 block residence at 200 West shortly after 3:00 am. He was hit in the chest and died on the spot.

An investigation resulted in the arrest of 39-year-old Jose Santos Cruz for reckless crime with a lethal weapon. It’s a level 5 felony.

The Grant County coroner’s office identified the victim as Benito D. Lugo of Hidalgo, Texas.
