Update on the Search for Ohio’s 23rd President

On Monday, February 27, 2023, Peggy Viehweger, Chair of the Chancellor’s Selection Committee and Board of Trustees, shared the following message with the university community:

Dear OHIO Community,

Last September, our board gathered a diverse group of individuals from across the university community. Looking for Ohio University’s 23rd President And help us plan the Ohio University courses that will move us forward forever.

today we are our Presidential Election Commission has identified three experienced and capable presidential finalists. Each will soon visit the Athens campus to participate in a variety of settings with students, faculty, alumni, university leaders and throughout his OHIO community.

Join the Public Forum of Presidential Candidate Finalists

Ohio students, faculty, alumni, and community members are cordially invited to participate in the Public Forum of Presidential Candidate Finalists over the next two weeks.

A member of the OHIO Faculty Council moderates each forum, and live streams of all sessions are available for those with an OHIO ID who wish to participate remotely.

It has been an honor to serve OHIO in this search and to work with an excellent and representative search committee. The search was diligent, with all members of the committee doing their best.
