Tampa, Florida (WFLA) — The Tampa flight was diverted to Atlanta after the passenger was found in a cutter, officials said.

Frontier Airlines said in a statement to 8 On Your Side that Flight 1761 departed Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport on Friday afternoon.

But after the box cutter was found, it had to be transferred to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the crew declared an emergency “due to unruly passengers,” according to the FAA.

The FAA said the plane landed safely around 8:45 p.m.

According to Frontier, the passenger was detained for questioning by Atlanta police.

The airline said all passengers were off the plane and given accommodations in Atlanta.

They were put on another flight to Tampa on Saturday morning.

The FAA said it was continuing to investigate the incident.
