130 Subs Donated to Super Bowl Party Men’s Shelter

Columbus, Ohio (WCMH) – A local organization is throwing a Super Bowl party for the men at the Faith Mission Homeless Shelter. The Singing Buckeyes Chorus, a group of barbershop-style singers, made sandwiches to serve during games.
Singing Buckeyes chapter president Tim Kuenzli says the group holds a fundraiser several times a year and makes and sells sandwiches. But this time, they asked supporters for sub-sandwiches for themselves and someone else.
More than 130 subscribers have been served at the shelter and $700 checks have been donated.
Kuenzli said the response has been great and it’s fun to be able to give back to people on a day when so many are with their loved ones.
“You touched it – it’s special,” he said. “Families eat all sorts of things together on days like this, but these guys don’t have the same opportunities and gifts.”
This is the first time this group has done a party and I hope they can continue.
