Kosciuszko County, Indiana (WOWO) – Three teenagers were found dead in their car in Kosciuszko County on Sunday afternoon.
Indiana State Troopers responded shortly after 3:00 p.m. to a property located 900 blocks west 10800 north near Etna Green and received reports of three unresponsive teenagers. The officer found him a 2008 Ford.
An 18-year-old Robert Bontrager of the City of Rome was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat, and a 16-year-old male and a 16-year-old female (both in Topeka) were found unresponsive in the back seat. All three were confirmed dead at the scene.
The Kosciuszko County Coroner’s Office oversaw an autopsy conducted today at the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center in Fort Wayne. Preliminary indicators point to carbon monoxide poisoning, but toxicology results are pending.
Investigation is ongoing.
