Aaron Williams Gaston, 33, was found in his car just after 3 a.m. suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was confirmed dead at the scene.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A man was killed early Saturday morning when a gunman opened fire overnight in western Toledo.

toledo police He was dispatched to Hoyles Avenue, near Hillcrest Avenue, just after 3:00 a.m. and killed a man who had been shot in his car.

When police arrived, they found Aaron Williams Gaston, 33, suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

According to police, Williams-Gaston was in the car when it was shot. He was confirmed dead at the scene.

Williams-Gaston’s death has been ruled a homicide.

Williams-Gaston’s family says the Woodward High School alumni were loved by all and never got into trouble. They also say he worked two jobs.

They also believe he was randomly shot while sitting in the car.

The family will have a candlelight assembly on Monday at 6:00 pm. The wake was originally scheduled for Sunday, but was canceled due to weather.

Police continue to investigate the shooting.
