Jefferson County, Ohio (WTRF)
April is Animal Cruelty Prevention Awareness Month, and Jefferson County is during this time.
The Humane Society is looking back at all the incidents we've seen throughout the year.
In 2023, JCHS humanitarian agents investigated more than 500 reports from the community.
Of the 500 animals, 322 were rescued.
We would like to warn you that some of these images may be disturbing.
These are before and after photos of the animals being rescued, showing how far they have come.
Chief Humane Agent Nick Thayer said the safety and well-being of the animals is and will continue to be their top priority.
“He and many other dogs were rescued from extremely deplorable situations, and one phone call changed the course of all these animals' lives. So after letting the animal die, It's always fun to bring them back.'' They're settling into their new home and knowing everything they've gone through in the past to get to where they are today, we're excited to bring them back.'' They are doing activities. ”
