Bodies found in Ohio landfill linked to Columbus case, police say

GEORGETOWN, Ohio (WCMH) — Columbus Police Department investigators headed south into Brown County after a body was found there Wednesday morning.

Police confirmed to NBC4 that authorities had been notified that a body had been found at the Lumpki landfill in Georgetown, about 50 miles east of Cincinnati. Speaking with media officials in Georgetown, Columbus Police Chief Mark Denner said the bodies found in the landfill were related to an investigation that began in Columbus.

CPD worked with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department and Lampki employees to conduct the investigation. Denner said the CPD will share additional details about the investigation at a press conference Thursday in Columbus. He did not share any further information.
