Cleveland Heights, Ohio (WJWs) — A man who recently purchased a home in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, found the decomposing body of the previous homeowner in the basement, city representatives confirmed this week.

Police and firefighters were called to the home shortly after 11:40 am on Tuesday when the new owner discovered the body.

According to Cuyahoga County records, the city’s coroner’s office later identified the deceased as 71-year-old Nina Fielden, who was listed as the owner of the same property.

The new owner told detectives he found Fielden’s body while inspecting a property he recently purchased through a foreclosure sale.

The coroner said there were “no signs of trauma” on the body. This incident is currently under investigation. Body found in Cleveland Heights basement
