Business Service Center staff enhance research knowledge at GRID Lab open house

The Game and Research Immersive Design (GRID) Lab at the Scripps College of Communication will hold an open house on February 28th to explore the innovative and complex work being done in cinematic virtual reality technology by Ohio University students and faculty. Introduced research.

“We believe it is important for our staff to understand how important the purchasing work they do is to the entire university ecosystem,” said Heather Krugman, executive director of the Ohio Business Services Center. states. “When I was invited to this open house, I wanted to give an example of what faculty in the research community do and how important the purchasing work we do is to the overall success of research. One example of this work highlighted at the open house is GRID Lab’s research on VR training programs. GRID Lab recently Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Serviceprovides peace officer training throughout Ohio. Virtual reality technology simulates “real world” situations, and the storytelling behind the training modules highlights the different ways officers respond and how to use communication tools to de-escalate situations.
