COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Health reported 12,101 new COVID-19 cases, 432 additional hospitalizations and 89 deaths on Thursday.

As of September 22, 7,473,271 Ohioans have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. This makes up her 63.93% of the state’s population.
The Ohio Department of Health announced that the state will transition from daily reporting to weekly reporting beginning March 17.
The Department of Health said the change will bring Ohio’s reporting system more in line with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

- COVID-19 new and cumulative cases, hospitalizations, ICU admissions, and vaccinations currently updated daily on coronavirus.ohio.gov will be updated every Thursday starting Thursday, March 17. Cases will continue to be assigned the appropriate disease onset date. , and vaccination up to the appropriate dosing date.
- Newly reported COVID-19 deaths (currently reported twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays) will be reported on Thursdays and will continue to be assigned appropriate dates of death.
- Data on long-term care facilities and reports from partner agencies (Developmental Disabilities, Veterans Homes, Youth Services, Mental Health and Addiction Services, Rehabilitation and Corrections) are published every Thursday.
- K-12 schools will no longer be required to report a positive case of COVID-19 to their local health department unless the school has tested a student for COVID-19 and the result is positive. Additionally, the COVID-19 School Reporting dashboard will be archived.
