INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – An Indianapolis City and County Council member on Thursday became the second Democrat to announce that she will win Indiana’s vacant U.S. Senate seat in the 2024 election.
Keith Potts is joining former state senator Mark Carmichael in the race for the party’s nomination to fill the Republican seat. Senator Mike Brown gives up to run for Governor of Indiana. Carmichael announced his candidacy last month.

Potts was elected to the Indianapolis City Council in 2019 but did not seek re-election this year.
