Despite Delays, People Flock to the Center Market for Reds, Whites & Blues
Ohio County, West Virginia (WTRF) – Independence Day may have passed, but crowds flocked to Wheelings Center Market on Friday night for the United Way Red, White, and Brew event. I was.
The event was postponed for a few days due to bad weather, but locals still gathered to show their patriotism and donations.
Participation is free and all ages are welcome, but those 21 and older will be able to sample delicious beers, with all proceeds going to United Way. There was a lot of delicious food and live music, and I enjoyed it.
“All proceeds from tonight’s event will go towards our annual campaign Raized Here Stays Here. Also, all the money we raise throughout the year will go to local charities we partner with throughout the year. 20 nonprofits in and about 30 nonprofits in the program, so we gave $500,000 to those agencies this year, and we hope to surpass that next year. increase.”
Stacy Stephen, Executive Director, United Way of the Ohio Valley
Some shops in Center Market stayed open late for the party, and crowds enjoyed styling songs by Family Traditions and Taylor Joe and the Copper Creek Band.
