Donald Trump comes to East Palestine amid train derailment
East Palestine, Ohio (WKBN)- Former President Donald Trump I’m going to Eastern Palestine on Wednesday.
He is on his way to Eastern Palestine and will soon be arriving at Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.
Details of his visit have not been made public.
Ahead of the former president’s visit, Clarke Street in eastern Palestine was blocked. A few people gather and a merchandiser sells Trump merchandise.
Trump will be joined by Senator Michael Lulli and Rep. Monica Rob Blasdell.
A source told WKBN that Trump plans to donate thousands of cleaning supplies and 13 pallets of bottled water to deliver to the area during his visit.
Schools in East Palestine were closed prior to his visit. A decision was made to take higher security measures
Schools said the street closures will affect student commuting.
The former president has been vocal in his criticism of the Biden administration for not acting sooner at the federal level.
Initially, FEMA I was not called for support. Over the weekend, members of the agency arrived.
Both Democrats and Republicans are critical of the federal government’s handling of the disaster.
