Father demands answers after daughter’s dead body found in North Linden

On Monday, Brett Hinkle’s daughter, 36-year-old Jessica Sykes, was found dead in her home on Howie Road in North Linden.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Brett Hinkle never thought he’d have to live with this pain.

On Monday, his daughter, 36-year-old Jessica Sykes, was found dead at her home on Howie Road in North Linden.

Police say she was found with a gunshot wound.

All her father Hinkle has are memories through photographs.

“She’s going to do what she wants. She’ll give you the shirt off her back…that’s my baby girl,” Hinkle said.

10TV sat down with him on Friday. Hinkle said his heart ached as he prepared for his middle child’s funeral.

“I never thought this would happen…it wasn’t my child…it wasn’t my child,” Hinkle said. she will overcome it.

He pleads with anyone who has information to come forward and help his family find peace.

“Find out who did this,” he said. “Nobody is safe on Cleveland Avenue or on the Hudson or anywhere you drive past or see,” he said.
