Former Pennsylvania Department of Corrections employee pleads guilty to sexual assault

Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania (WHTM) — Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry announced that former Department of Corrections employee Kimberly Dunfelt pleaded guilty to felony institutional sexual assault.

The Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections Investigative Intelligence investigated the incident and obtained video evidence of Dunfelt and the inmate participating in inappropriate conduct, according to the Attorney General’s Office.

Danfelt was indicted in June 2022 for having sexual contact with an inmate at Huntingdon State Correctional Institution. According to the Attorney General’s Office, Danfeldt was an inmate supervisor at the facility’s garment factory.

Attorney General Henry said, “Defendants used their positions of power to brazenly commit unlawful acts with inmates.” We are committed to holding accountable.”

The Attorney General’s Office said Dunfelt will be sentenced on July 20, 2023.
