Former Reds pitcher Tom Browning dies at 62
Union, Kentucky (WCMH) — Former Cincinnati Reds pitcher Tom Browning was pronounced dead Monday afternoon after a Boone County deputy was found unresponsive at his home. he was 62 years old.
According to a release from Boone County Sheriff’s Officelawmakers went to Browning’s home in Union, Kentucky shortly after 1:00 p.m. and found him unresponsive on a couch. Declared dead at 13:00.
Browning pitched for the Reds for 10 years and helped lead the team to its final World Series title with the Oakland Athletics in 1990. A former All-Star, he earned the nickname Mr. His Perfect in 1988 against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Cincinnati’s Riverfront Stadium, becoming the 12th perfect his game in MLB history. In 2005, Browning was inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame.
