Hall Hunger Initiative promotes more locally grown food in Dayton

Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) — The Dayton-based organization promotes more locally grown food in the Miami Valley.

Hall Hunger supports local growers by advocating for greater food self-sufficiency at the Edgemont Solar Garden.

Hall Hunger ambassador Tony Hall says supporting local producers and reducing their dependence on other countries will help prevent shortages and rising prices.

“It’s dangerous because if they start a war with Russia, supply a good chunk of the world’s food, and it hurts us, the price of food will go up,” Hall said. That’s a problem.”

Hall said the US now imports more food than it exports.
