‘He’s not allowed to do that.’ Rep. Johnson praises SCOTUS ruling that nullified Biden’s student loan forgiveness program
Ohio (WTRF) – The U.S. Supreme Court has nullified the student loan relief program, a centerpiece of President Biden’s proposed 2020 election campaign.
The program would relieve $10,000 of federal student loan debt for those earning less than $125,000 a year, and give an additional $10,000 to those who attend college on Pell grants.
7NEWS interviewed Ohio Republican Rep. Bill Johnson about the court’s decision, and he said the ruling was appropriate. He said he knew the president didn’t have the constitutional authority to do so and that he should never have made a promise to voters.
“The president himself has previously stated that he does not have such authority. can’t be undone, he’s not allowed to do that.”

The Biden administration is already considering new ways to attempt debt cancellation, this time using the Higher Education Act of 1965.
