Homestead High School students protest over viral photo – WOWO 1190 AM

FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WOWO) – The school was “locked out” Thursday morning after students protested at Homestead High School.

It stems from the now viral photo of a black-faced student. Partner news at 21 Alive report School leaders say the photo circulating on social media was taken last summer. They said students are out of school on Thursday and are working to take appropriate next steps.

An Instagram livestream showed dozens of students protesting at school Thursday morning.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Department said the school was placed in “lockout” until the end of the day.
