Hurricane Ian kills Dayton woman
Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton woman died in Florida during Hurricane Ian.
according to our partners WLWTDayton resident Nichelle Harris-Miles was in Fort Myers, Fla., for a birthday trip with three other women.
Harris Miles and three other women were celebrating Nichelle’s 40th birthday in Fort Myers.
Sadly, tragedy struck when the roof of their room collapsed in the winds of Hurricane Ian.
Chanel Matson of Dayton, who was one of the women on the trip with Harris Miles, said on Facebook that a nail was stuck in a major artery of Harris Miles.
“She just turned 40. On September 23, she just turned 40. She passed away nine days after her birthday,” Matson said.
The balloon launch was scheduled for Sunday, October 2 at 6:00 pm at 2408 Fairport Avenue in Dayton.
