Wapakoneta, Ohio (WDTN) — The Ohio Sheriff’s Department is searching for a man who allegedly escaped from Augalies County Jail in Wapaconeta.
Law enforcement is looking for 30-year-old Brendan Reed, according to the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office. He is said to have escaped from prison around 12:30 pm on Saturday, May 13, and was last seen just south of his office, near the Wapakoneta water treatment plant.
Authorities said the man had broken open a locked door and left, fleeing the prison.
Reed is listed as 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. The all-yellow jumpsuit and orange flip-flops were the last time Reed was seen wearing the outfit.
He has connections in both Dark County, Ohio and Portland, Indiana.
Initially, he was in custody for a drug offense, the sheriff’s office said in a release.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who sees Reed to call 911.
