ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – An Ohio man was being held in a Florida prison after he assaulted a police officer at Orlando International Airport, officials said.
An Orange County circuit judge Thursday set bail for Edward Harrison, 41, at more than $50,000, according to court records. He was arrested Tuesday on charges of attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer, assaulting a law enforcement officer, and resisting a police officer with violence and disorderly conduct.
According to the arrest affidavit, Harrison was part of a large group of people yelling and threatening staff at the Spirit ticket counter Tuesday night.
When police arrived, officials said Ms Harrison got into an argument with an officer, which resulted in her strangling him. The agent was eventually released as other officers showed up to help.
Harrison, who represented the public defender, did not respond to a call for comment after hours.
