Ohio police say they caught a teenager in red hands with a decoy car after complaints that an “unlocked vehicle” had been broken into early in the morning and important items had been stolen. say.
Jefferson County Mingo Junction Police say they believe the teenager was after he unlocked his car on the way to a school bus stop.
The target area of Mingo Junction is Standard Ave. (300 Block). Macrister Avenue (100 blocks). & Commercial Street (600 blocks), according to police.
Police placed a decoy car on the 600 block of Commercial Street near the Mingo Senior Citizens Center and opened the passenger side door to allow a teenage boy to approach the “unlocked car” trying to steal his things. is said to have been caught red-handed.
The boy later confessed to several other car break-ins, police said.
The boy was arrested and transferred to a juvenile detention center.
