Ohio woman dies in Adams County crash

Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) — An investigation is underway after a nighttime crash in southern Ohio left a pedestrian dead.

According to OSP's Georgetown Post, officers responded to a call around 12:55 a.m. Thursday on Cemetery Avenue near Route 52 in Manchester, Adams County.

According to a preliminary investigation, the driver of a 1997 Ford Ranger was heading south on Cemetery Avenue. According to OSP, the vehicle is believed to have veered off to the right side of the road and struck a parked 2005 Pontiac G6. OSP reported that the Pontiac was ejected and struck Jesse Reinhart, 44, of Aberdeen.

According to an OSP release, Reinhart was unloading items from the vehicle.

Rhinehart was taken to Meadowview Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. From there she was taken to the University of California Medical Center, where she died from her injuries.

The driver of the Ford was not injured, but the passenger reportedly suffered minor injuries.

OSP says both alcohol and drugs are being investigated as factors in the accident.
