Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) — A woman just north of the Miami Valley died after a storm hit the area.
our partners are Willio An Ohio City woman died Friday, July 21, after a storm passed through Van Wert County on Thursday. WLIO reported that an elderly couple was standing in the courtyard of an Ohio City home after a large tree fell.
A fallen tree knocked down the terrace roof, trapping both couples, but only the woman was injured after the incident.
The woman was taken to a hospital in Van Wert in critical condition after the tree fell. She was taken to a hospital in Fort Wayne, where she died from her injuries.
“When the storm moved into the Ohio City area around 6:35 p.m., strong winds hit a home that trapped a local couple in a fallen tree, then weakened as the storm crossed the rest of the county,” the release said.
The Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office told 2 NEWS that the woman’s death was not being investigated because it was a weather-related incident.
