One killed in motorcycle crash in Richland County
TROY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WCMH) — A man died Sunday night in Richland County after the motorcycle he was driving was hit by a car.
Marion’s Jeffrey D. Kite, 60, was driving a 1998 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide in an SR 97 West, according to the Mansfield Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol (OSHP). He was accompanied by his 54-year-old Marion male. 1999 Harley-Davidson who was driving the Night Train.
According to OSHP, a 20-year-old man from Mansfield was driving a 2007 Ford Fusion in an SR 97 eastward when he refused to yield while turning left onto Gas Road and struck both motorcycles.
Kite was pronounced dead at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Another motorcyclist and female passenger in the Ford Fusion were also taken to Mansfield Hospital.
The crash is under investigation.
OSHP was assisted by the Lexington Police Department, Troy Township Fire and EMS, Washington Township EMS, Springfield Township Fire and EMS.
