Police identify body of local man found in forest

ST. Clair TWP, OH (WKBN) — Police have identified the body of a man found in the woods in St. Clair Township Monday night.

St. Clair Police Chief Brian McKenzie said the person found in the woods has been identified as Stephen Howard Green, 31, of East Liverpool.

Shortly after 5 p.m., officers received a call about a body found in the woods near the 48000 block of McCoy Avenue. Police Chief Brian McKenzie said a resident discovered Green’s body while walking in the woods.

Officers immediately responded to the scene and collected evidence. The Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Columbiana County Major Crimes Task Force were also on scene.

Police are still awaiting the coroner’s final report. However, there appears to be nothing suspicious about his death. This is still under investigation at this time.
