In the hustle and bustle of the reopening of street fairs on Saturday, October 8, one couple was the first to make time for the street fairs. at an impromptu wedding.

The couple approached the YS News booth and asked if the news staff knew anyone who could legally perform the wedding. It was right next to the information booth that was distributing and giving directions.

Valenzuela and Cool said they were lucky enough to have an Ohio marriage certificate and planned to get married across the bridge from their Cincinnati home in Newport, Kentucky. Be legally married in Kentucky and licensed in Ohio. The couple, who hoped to be legally married before the Kentucky ceremony, said the usual huge crowds at street fairs they had frequented in the past inspired a spontaneous wedding.

“[Kuhl] He’s actually ordained, but of course he can’t marry us!” Valenzuela told News ahead of the ceremony.

“So I said, ‘Hey, there’s going to be a lot of people.’ [at Street Fair] — Get a marriage license. Then maybe we can find someone!” Cool added.

Fifteen minutes after the pair approached the booth, the two married Conine in a very short ceremony amidst a crowd of onlookers, the bride donning a new crystal tiara she had just purchased at the craft booth. was

The wedding was Conine’s 127th wedding since being elected as mayor for her first two years in 2017. She is in her third term now.

“Today is the day you officially and very publicly change your status from single to married,” Conine said at the ceremony. May it continue to live, prosper, and grow, and lead you to a happy life.”
