Wintersville, Ohio (WTRF) — 25 years of planning and a $90 million investment have finally been combined into one building in Wintersville.
And we got our first look inside.
On Thursday, Trinity Health unveiled a nearly completed five-story patient tower on its west campus.
The new beds are complemented by a surgery center on the 3rd floor and a pharmacy at the entrance.
With a significantly larger ER, more natural light and no more curtained rooms, the hospital says it’s focused on patient comfort as it navigates its most difficult moments.
All rooms will be private rooms. Roughly the same number of patient spaces, but most will be private rooms instead of semi-private rooms…no one wants to be in the hospital. So when you have to be hospitalized, make sure you have a space designed for your patients.
Matt Grimshaw, CEO, Trinity Health System
Construction is expected to be completed in the next month or two, but Grimshaw said tests still need to be done.
About 25 more nurses are needed to keep up with the increased number of patients.
By the end of summer, the wait should finally be over.
