Two Tornadoes Land in Allen County, Third in Paulding County – WOWO 1190 AM

Allen County, Indiana (WOWO) – National Weather Service confirmed That Friday night’s storm spawned two tornadoes in Allen County.

The first EF2 tornado originated on the northeast side of Fort Wayne and moved northeast toward Harlan. With a maximum width of 400 yards and a maximum wind speed of 120 mph, he lasted 7 minutes while traveling about 8 miles.

Many homes suffered minor to major damage, and extensive damage to trees and power lines occurred. The heaviest damage occurred south of SR 37.

A second tornado, rated EF0, formed in response to a microburst one mile east of Harlan. With a maximum width of 75 yards and a maximum wind speed of 75 mph, it lasted only one minute.

Some houses and barns along Antwerp Road and Dean Road suffered minor damage. There were also broken and uprooted trees in the area.

update: National Weather Service A third tornado has since been confirmed in Paulding County. The EF0 tornado lasted just two minutes with winds up to 80 mph and a maximum width of 150 yards.

It developed south of Route 424, causing roof and siding damage and uprooting trees. It disappeared between Route 63 and Route 192.
