youngstown, ohio (WKBN) — Following Saturday's attack on Israel by Iran, the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation released a statement Sunday afternoon.
Iran launched a combination of the above 300 dronesOn Saturday, ballistic and cruise missiles were fired toward Israel during what a statement from the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation called “a critical moment in the war against Hamas.”
According to a report by the Associated Press, 99% of the launches were intercepted, and only a few ballistic missiles reached Israeli territory and caused minor damage to the air base.
“We stand in solidarity with Israel and the Israel Defense Forces as they work to defend against these brazen attacks. and other allies around the world to unite to show support for the sovereign state of Israel.”

So far, only one 7-year-old girl has been reported injured in the attack.
“Israel agreed to ceasefire terms, which were formally rejected by Hamas,” the federation's statement read in part. “We unequivocally condemn this attitude.”
The attack comes less than two weeks after two Iranian generals were killed at the Iranian consulate in what appeared to be an Israeli attack in Syria, and is the first time Iran has launched a direct military attack on Israel.
“We pray for the safety of all those defending Israel in this battle,” the federation's statement concluded.
