Athletes bring the heat to the 2023 OVAC Athletics Championships

Belmont County, Ohio (WTRF) – All roads led to Red Devils Stadium as teams competed for gold in the Track and Field Conference Championship.

Had a great day in St Clairsville OVAC Cal Giffin Athletics Finals.

Caldwell’s Gwynne Lori won both the discus and shot put.

Magnolia’s Jenna Blaine set a time of 15.82 in the 100m hurdles.

That’s not all. She also recorded her fastest time of 47.87 in her 300m hurdles.

Won class 3A gold medal in 2 races.

St. Clairsville native Emma Henry ran 12.16 in the 100 meters.

Behind her was Cary Davis with a time of 12.83 from Wheeling Park.

In the men’s division of the competition, Mikel Davies set the bar high all season.

He broke the class 5A high jump record by 6’6″ and won the championship.

In the 110m hurdles, Steubenville’s Micah Mitchell was fastest with a time of 14.27.

He also won the 300m hurdles at 39.80.world

Wheeling Central’s Lorenzo Ferrera won a W in the 100 meters.

He crossed the line with 10.89, while opponents JyLeik Johnson and Isaiah Zelaski both had 10.94.

Ferrera also has the fastest time in the 200m dash at 22.55.

Running for the Red Devils is Ben Shields. He scored a 3200 in class 4A and Wheeling Park’s Seth Franke took the win with his 5A.

St. Clairsville had the highest scoring men’s team with 178 points.

Meanwhile, Morgantown finished first in the women’s division with a total of 144 points.
