Motorcyclist killed in north Columbus crash
The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Edmonton Road when a box truck and a motorcycle collided.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — A motorcyclist is dead after a crash in north Columbus Friday evening, according to police.
The Columbus Division of Police said the accident happened on Cleveland Avenue at Edmonton Road around 5:15 p.m.
A GMC box truck was pulling out from Edmonton Road to go north on Cleveland Avenue when a purple motorcycle traveling south on Cleveland Avenue attempted to pass the intersection, causing the truck to collide with the motorcycle.
Police say the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene just after 5:20 p.m. No other injuries were reported.
The driver of the truck stayed on the scene.
The Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene and the investigation remains ongoing.
