Man found dead behind cabin in Portsmouth, ruled murder victim

PORTSMUTH, Ohio (WCMH) — A homicide investigation is underway in Portsmouth after a man’s body was found behind a cabin on Saturday afternoon, police said.

Portsmouth Police said they received a call shortly before 5pm saying someone had found a dead body at Block 1200 of Linden Avenue. Officers at the scene found the man’s body behind the hut and declared him dead.

Initial investigations by authorities determined the man died of a homicide. Anyone with information should contact Portsmouth Police at 740-354-1600.
