Busy Rangers sign Jonathan Quick, Blake Wheeler and six others

The New York Rangers agreed terms with goaltender Jonathan Quick and forwards Blake Wheeler, Tyler Pittrick, Riley Nash, Nick Bonino and Alex Belzile on the first day of their free agency contracts on Saturday.

The team also added defenders Conor McKee and Nicolas Brouillard.

Quick, Wheeler, Pittrick, Bonino, McKee and Brouillard have agreed to one-year deals with the Rangers, while Nash and Belzile have signed two-year deals. Terms were not disclosed.

The 31-year-old Belzile has six goals and eight assists in 31 appearances against Montreal in the 2022-23 season. He scored 15 points (6 goals and 9 assists) in 44 games during part of his three seasons with the Canadiens.

Bonino, 35, appeared in 62 games for the San Jose Sharks and Pittsburgh Penguins in 2022-23 with 10 goals and nine assists.
